Abafado

Abafado

Abafado is a so-called fortified wine. It can best be compared to Pineau des Charentes from the Cognac region. After pressing, the grape juice is blended with high-quality alcohol, which prevents fermentation from taking place. The final product has a beautiful dark brown color and, on the first impression, a refined sweetness with notes of figs and almonds. In the finish, however, the sweetness recedes and a pleasant freshness emerges.
