Sauternes

Very well-known and normally expensive French sweet wine, produced in the Bordeaux sub-region of Graves. Made from parched, partially rotten grapes (due to the presence of Botrytis cinereal - noble rot), this wine is highly concentrated and flavourful. Its delicate, floral character and rich notes of honey are much appreciated for ageing spirits.

A rich and refined aroma with notes of ripe apricots, honey, candied orange and peach, complemented by subtle hints of dried figs, tropical fruit, vanilla, saffron, toasted almonds and delicate oak nuances.
