Moscatel Setubal
Sétubal, a peninsula just below Lisbon. Ten thousand hectares of vineyards where, according to many Portuguese wine lovers, Portugal's best wines are made. They are more than proud of Moscatel, a wine that, like port, is fortified by adding alcohol. Moscatel is made from the sweet Muscat grape. Almost always it is the white Muscat d'Alexandria, called Moscatel de Sétubal by the Portuguese. Sometimes the blue variety is used: the Moscatel Roxo.
