HPSM is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled and bottled at the distillery of the same name in Kirkwall (Orkney Islands). Highland Park is the northernmost distillery in Scotland and was founded in 1798. The name refers less to the Highlands (Scottish plateau) than to the fact that the distillery was built on higher ground.
HPSM is one of the few distilleries that uses its own barley and stacks peat in the region, on Hobbister Moor. In 1984, Highland Park was the only whisky to be rated 100% in the tasting panel of The Scotsman, a national Scottish newspaper. Whisky connoisseur Michael Jackson described Highland Park as the best all-rounder in the world of malt whisky.
HPSM whisky is available in 12, 15, 18, 25 and 30 year matured varieties.
