Banyuls

Banyuls

French AOC fortified dessert wine made from grapes (usually also different varieties of Grenache and Carignan) grown in old vineyards on the slopes of the French Pyrenees (Roussillon region). The production methods are similar to those of port wine (alcohol is added at half-fermentation to maintain sugar levels). The end result shows not only the natural sweetness, but also the natural flavours and profile of these grape varieties (spice, berry flavour, tannin profile and deep colour) with an alcohol content around 16%. Banyuls barrels have long been the first choice among sweet wine barrels. The unique aroma of dessert wines from the south of France is what makes these barrels so interesting and exciting for the entire beverage and beer industry.
