Sazerac Bourbon Straight Rye
Sazerac Bourbon Straight Rye Whiskey, a gem from the US. Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans is the creator of this whisky. It is also the name of the famous cocktail made with rye and Peychaud's Bitters. The whiskey is distilled at Buffalo Trace. The whiskey is said to be six years old, but a real age statement is lacking. No further announcements are made about the mash bill, but is said to be the same as of its "brothers", Thomas H. Handy Sazerac and Sazerac 18 Years Old from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Sazerac Company is a the largest distilling company in the United States. The company was founded in 1869 by Thomas C. Handy with the purchase of Sazerac Coffee House. From there, Handy began acquiring and marketing more and more distilled brands. To produce its current brands, Sazerac currently operates three distilleries, the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort and the A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Well-known brands include Sazerac Rye, George T. Stagg, W.L. Weller, Blanton's, Buffalo Trace and Van Winkle.
